TPS5430 12V Positive and Negative Switching Dual Power Supply Module

The TPS5430 Positive and Negative Dual Switching Power Supply Module is a compact, high-efficiency DC-DC step-down converter board that generates both a positive +12V and a negative −12V output simultaneously from a single DC input — delivering the symmetrical dual-rail supply required by operational amplifiers, audio amplifiers, DAC circuits, ADC front-ends, data converters, industrial sensors, and signal conditioning circuits that demand clean, matched positive and negative voltage rails.

Built around two Texas Instruments TPS5430 3A buck converter ICs one configured for positive output and one using an inverting topology for the negative output — the module achieves a conversion efficiency of greater than 88% with an output ripple below 80mV at up to 30W total output power. A switching frequency of 500KHz keeps the external inductor and capacitor sizes minimal while pushing switching noise well outside the audio band. High-capacity, low-ESR output capacitors provide excellent ripple filtering on both rails for noise-sensitive analogue and mixed-signal applications.

The input accepts DC 13V to 36V, making it compatible with standard 15V, 19V, 24V, and 30V bench supplies and industrial power rails. A heatsink is recommended when exceeding 10W continuous load. The 50×50mm PCB footprint is compact enough for embedded panel installations yet spacious enough for good thermal management.
