ESP32 CAM Module with OV2640 Camera Module

The ESP32-CAM is a compact and cost-effective camera development board built around the powerful ESP32 microcontroller with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Featuring the OV2640 2-megapixel camera sensor and onboard microSD card slot, this versatile module enables rapid prototyping and deployment of wireless camera applications including surveillance systems, IoT image capture, QR code readers, and streaming video projects.

The OV2640 camera sensor captures images at resolutions up to 1600×1200 pixels (UXGA) and supports JPEG compression for efficient wireless transmission over WiFi. The ESP32’s dual-core processor handles camera data acquisition, image processing, WiFi streaming, and user application code simultaneously, making it suitable for real-time video surveillance and image recognition tasks. The onboard microSD card slot supports cards up to 4GB (FAT16) or 32GB (FAT32), enabling local storage of captured images and videos without requiring constant network connectivity.

Powered by the ESP32-WROOM-32 module, this board provides 802.11 b/g/n WiFi for seamless integration into existing networks and Bluetooth for short-range communication. The compact form factor and multiple GPIO pins exposed via pin headers make it easy to integrate into custom enclosures and expand functionality with additional sensors or displays. Compatible with Arduino IDE and ESP-IDF framework, the ESP32-CAM is supported by extensive example code and community libraries for rapid development.
