TT Gear Motor

The TT DC Gearbox Motor is the most widely used budget hobby motor in the maker and robotics community a compact, lightweight, and affordable yellow plastic gearbox motor that forms the drivetrain foundation of countless smart car chassis, line-following robots, obstacle-avoidance bots, and DIY wheeled platforms. Simple, reliable, and easy to integrate, voltage goes in and rotation comes out no built-in encoders, speed control, or positional feedback to worry about.

With a gear ratio of 1:48, the TT motor runs at approximately 90 RPM at 3V and 200 RPM at 6V under no-load conditions. The plastic gearbox is compact enough to fit even the smallest robot chassis, while the dual-shaft design — with one primary output shaft and one rear back shaft — allows fitment of encoder discs for closed-loop speed control on compatible platforms. The shaft is 5.3mm in diameter and 10mm in length, compatible with standard TT motor wheels, rubber tyres, and mecanum wheel hubs widely available in the maker ecosystem.
