The HC-06 is a slave-only Bluetooth to serial module that adds wireless connectivity to your Arduino or other microcontroller projects. Once your phone, tablet, or PC pairs with it, the module behaves like a transparent serial port, sending and receiving data over a simple UART link with no Bluetooth code to write.
Based on Bluetooth V2.0+EDR, it waits for a master device to connect, which makes it perfect for smartphone-controlled robots, remote switches, home automation, and wireless data monitoring. While unpaired, AT commands let you change the device name, PIN code, and baud rate to suit your project.
Out of the box it pairs with PIN 1234 and runs at 9600 baud. With a typical range of around 10 metres, a built-in antenna, and a 3.3V logic interface, it is an affordable, beginner-friendly choice for students, makers, and electronics enthusiasts. As a slave-only module it needs a master such as a phone, PC, or HC-05 module to start the connection.
