ZIF DIP IC Socket 2.54mm Pitch Zero Insertion

A Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) DIP IC Socket is an indispensable tool for electronics prototyping, IC programming, and chip testing — allowing DIP-packaged integrated circuits to be inserted and removed repeatedly without bending or stressing their leads. The lever-actuated locking mechanism opens all contacts simultaneously for effortless, damage-free chip placement, then clamps down firmly for a reliable electrical connection. This makes ZIF sockets particularly valuable for use with microcontrollers, EEPROMs, EPROM programmers, and AVR/PIC development boards where chips are frequently swapped or reprogrammed.

Available in 14, 18, 20, 28, and 40-pin configurations, each variant uses the standard 2.54mm (0.1″) pin pitch compatible with all common DIP packages. Contacts are made from copper alloy with gold plating for low contact resistance and long service life — rated for up to 100,000 insertion cycles. The thermoplastic insulator body is rated from −40°C to +105°C, suitable for both bench testing and in-circuit use. Suitable for Arduino-based projects, TL866 and other universal IC programmers, and general PCB development work.
