The Waveshare ESP32-C3-LCD-1.47 is a compact, feature-rich development board built around the ESP32-C3FH4 SoC a 32-bit RISC-V single-core processor running at up to 160MHz with integrated 2.4GHz WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 (LE) — paired with an onboard 1.47-inch ST7789 LCD display at 172×320 pixels with 262K colour depth for vivid, sharp visuals in a minimal footprint.

The board is designed for rapid development of HMI interfaces, IoT dashboards, smart displays, and wireless sensor nodes without requiring any external display or radio module. The onboard Micro SD (TF) card slot provides convenient expandable file and image storage, and an onboard CH32V003F4U6 IO expander works alongside the main ESP32-C3 controller to enable full peripheral control and GPIO expansion beyond what the C3 chip alone provides exposing 18 GPIO pins through the standard 2.54mm header.

A USB Type-C port handles both power supply and programming via the ESP32-C3’s built-in USB full-speed serial controller, eliminating the need for a separate USB-to-UART adapter. BOOT and RESET buttons enable easy firmware flashing. The standard ESP-IDF, Arduino IDE, and MicroPython development frameworks are all supported, with Waveshare’s own example code and wiki documentation available for getting started quickly. Available in two versions: standard (unsoldered headers) and with pre-soldered black headers for immediate breadboard use.
