TCRT5000 Reflective Infrared Optical Sensor

The TCRT5000 is a compact reflective infrared optical sensor that combines an infrared emitter and phototransistor in a single 4-pin leaded package. This sensor detects reflected light from surfaces at close range, making it ideal for line following / line tracking robots, position sensing, rotary encoders, and proximity detection applications. The sensor works by emitting infrared light and measuring the reflected signal, with output varying based on surface reflectivity and distance.

Featuring a focused detection area with optimal sensing at 2.5mm distance, the TCRT5000 effectively distinguishes between light and dark surfaces or detects object presence.
