The straight bar load cell converts mechanical force into a measurable electrical signal through four internal strain gauges wired in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. It supports a rated capacity of 1kg with a rated output of 1.0mV/V, an excitation voltage of 3–12V DC, and delivers low creep of 0.03% F.S. The four colour-coded wires (Red = E+, Black = E−, Green = A+, White = A−) connect directly and cleanly to the HX711 module, which is neatly housed beneath the top acrylic platform.

The HX711 breakout board amplifies the tiny millivolt signals from the load cell through its 24-bit delta-sigma ADC with selectable gain of 64 or 128, and communicates with any microcontroller via a simple two-wire clock and data interface. It supports 10SPS and 80SPS output data rates and operates from 2.7V to 5V — fully compatible with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and STM32. Supported by widely available libraries including the popular HX711 library by bogde for Arduino.
