The CJMCU-1201 breaks out the ADUM1201, a dual-channel digital isolator that uses Analog Devices’ iCoupler magnetic isolation technology as a modern, higher-performance alternative to traditional optocouplers. Instead of relying on an LED and photodiode pair to bridge two circuits, the ADUM1201 uses tiny on-chip transformers to pass digital signals across an isolation barrier, giving faster switching speeds, more stable timing, and significantly lower power consumption than optocoupler-based designs. This makes it a drop-in upgrade for circuits currently using optocouplers for signal isolation.
