The WS2812B 5050 RGB LED Module is a compact square board carrying a single addressable RGB pixel with a built-in WS2812B driver. Using one data pin from an Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontroller, you can set its colour and brightness precisely, producing about 16.7 million colours (256 levels per colour channel) from a tiny, easy-to-mount package.
Each board has power, ground, data in, and data out connections, so you can chain as many modules as you need to build custom light layouts, indicator arrays, and animated effects, all from a single control pin. Because each module is its own pixel, you can place them wherever you like instead of being tied to a fixed strip or matrix. It runs on 5V and works with popular libraries such as FastLED and Adafruit NeoPixel. Great for wearables, badges, props, status indicators, mood lighting, and 3D printed lamps.
A single pixel can draw up to about 60mA at full white. When chaining many modules, power them from a separate 5V supply with a common ground, and add a series resistor of 300 to 500 ohms on the data line and a capacitor across the supply for best reliability.
