7404 Hex Inverter Gate is a typical high-speed CMOS logic INVERTER chip that comes with six independent gates. The NOT gate consists of only one input and one output. This chip has an operating voltage of 5V. This means that the minimum operating voltage is 4.75V and the maximum is 5.25V. Of the normal operating voltage, the high-level input voltage is 2V while the low-level input voltage is 0.8V.
The NOT gate is used to output the Boolean inverse of the applied input. Hence the name ‘Digital Inverter’ or ‘Inverting buffer’. The most commonly used NOT gate IC is 7404.
Also, the 7404 is a hex inverter.
