The MT3608 Mini DC-DC Step Up Boost Module is a compact, adjustable voltage booster that raises a low DC input of 2V to 24V up to a regulated output of 5V to 28V, at up to 2A peak current. It is built around the MT3608 constant-frequency, current-mode boost IC, which switches at 1.2MHz so the module can use tiny inductors and capacitors and stay very small at roughly 36 × 17mm.
A multi-turn trimpot sets the output voltage precisely, so a single module can turn a 3.7V Li-ion cell or a 5V USB supply into 9V, 12V, 18V, or 24V for the devices that need it. Efficiency reaches about 93% at typical loads, and the IC adds under-voltage lockout, current limiting, and thermal overload protection. Output ripple stays under 100mV.
It is a popular choice for powering 12V LED strips, small motors, and sensors from battery packs, building portable power banks, and adding a variable supply to bench projects. Remember that this is a boost-only converter, so the output voltage must always be set higher than the input. For continuous use, keep the load under about 1.5A and add a heatsink or airflow near the 2A limit.
