This FFC ribbon cable lets you connect a Raspberry Pi camera module to the Raspberry Pi 5’s CSI camera port. The Pi 5 introduced a new 22-pin, 0.5mm-pitch “mini” MIPI connector, which differs from the 15-pin, 1mm-pitch “standard” connector found on Raspberry Pi camera modules, so this adapter cable bridges the two, letting you use your existing Pi Camera Module or Camera Module 3 with the latest board.
At 200mm long, it gives you enough slack for mounting the camera away from the board, such as inside an enclosure, on a robotics chassis, or angled for a specific shot, without needing to position the camera right next to the Pi. The flexible flat cable format is thin, lightweight, and easy to route through tight spaces without adding bulk to a project. It’s an essential accessory for anyone setting up a Pi 5 based camera project, from home security cameras to computer vision builds, time-lapse rigs, and robotics applications. Note that this is a CSI camera cable only and is not interchangeable with the Pi 5’s DSI display cable, even though the connectors look similar.
